A national baseline data program in Greece could revolutionize energy efficiency strategies by collecting critical information on motor age, stock, power, efficiency, and usage.
- Policy Integration: Data collection could be a prerequisite for companies seeking government subsidies for motor replacement.
- Case Study: The Netherlands’ Energy Saving Investigation Obligation for motors provides a practical example, requiring companies to submit motor data to benefit from incentives (for more information about the Dutch program, visit the dedicated article at: https://eu-more.eu/community/postid/44/).
- Advantages: Comprehensive data enables tailored policy measures, facilitates progress monitoring, and improves resource allocation.

The following feedback was collected by the consulted stakeholders during the EU-MORE co-creation workshop:
"In the design of relevant financing programs, a key issue is the lack of relevant data owned by the beneficiary companies e.g. energy consumption, equipment rated power, equipment age.
Targeting companies like the Municipal Water and Sewerage Companies could be a solution, as electricity consumption is probably their biggest operational cost and it may be easier to obtain the necessary data for replacing old, high-power, inefficient motors."
